Welcome Dawna and Perry to the CVC family!
We are excited to introduce our new team of Kennel supervisors. Dawna Andrews and Perry
Chapman. They both come to us with very impressive backgrounds and a wide variety of
amazing talents and skills which we will be putting to use with the addition of new classes and
services!
Perry graduated from Tarheel K9’s Master Trainer Program with a specialty in protection,
detection and tracking. In addition, he completed Starmark Academy’s 3 month Animal
Behavioral Specialists Program.
Perry is also a veteran of our United States Navy, and he has rescued and trained over 25
dogs from shelters as service dogs for veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI’s and mobility issues
in a Shelter to Soldier program.
He and his dog Mika completed an 1100 mile hike together over the course of 3 months. He
and Mika also have titles in AKC advanced tricks, scentwork and Flyball. They have also
competed in surfing competitions together. As well as training with Mika, Perry is also training
his 8 month old Black Lab for explosive detection and his 5 month old Belgian Malinois for PSA.
When he is not busy training, he enjoys woodworking and spending time outdoors.
Dawna began her dog training career as a child training and showing her Australian Shepherd

her home.
She graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Psychology and from there, she
got her certificate as a Professional Dog Trainer for theNational Canine School for Dog
Training.
Dawna spent the next 10 years as a pet trainer as well as in dog rehabilitation for rescue
groups in Washington State. She spent 4 years training service dogs for a large non profit and
has had over 400 foster pets come through her home.
She competes her 2 Belgian Tervurens in a variety of disciplines and they have the distinction
of being the AKC’s #1 Belgian Tervurens in Agility, Obedience and Rally. She has an Australian
Shepherd and between them, they hold over 100 titles in various dog sports.
In her free time Dawna is an excellent baker.
